The Marlin Club is proud to be a sponsor of Catalina Island native Gabriel “Gabe” Hernandez, nicknamed “The Catalina Kid,” who has officially obtained professional golf status and plays on the Asia Tour through the Asian Development Tour.
Born and raised on Santa Catalina Island, Gabriel has been playing golf at Catalina Island Golf Course since he was 10 years old. He is the son of Larry and Wendy Hernandez, who are both Catalina natives. His father introduced him to the game while working on the golf course part-time as a groundskeeper. Catalina Island Golf Course is known as the oldest golf course this side of the Mississippi, and Gabe is proud to call it home.
